Renée Gailhoustet, un héritage architectural
Sébastien Martinez-Barat, Benjamin Lafore (MBL architects) and Christian Merlhiot (director) discuss the architectural legacy of Renée Gailhoustet (1929-2023), focusing primarily on her work as a town planner in the center of Ivry-sur-Seine: her Brutalist architecture, her attention to nature and plant spaces, and to architectural details such as door handles, windows and mailboxes in apartment buildings. The creation of promenades and meeting places for residents reflects her conception of the city as an “accumulation of subjectivities”.
