Louise Hervé & Clovis Maillet
An artistic creation workshop led by the artist duo Louise Hervé & Clovis Maillet around the practice of performance and their exhibition L’Iguane, with CM1 students (Year 5 or 5th Grade) from the Joliot-Curie B school in Ivry-sur-Seine.
After a visit of the exhibition L’Iguane (from January 20 to March 25, 2018 at the Crédac) with Louise Hervé & Clovis Maillet, during which the students could take part in one of the performances designed by the artists for the occasion, they could discover the different practices connected to this artistic form.
As a continuation of their performances-conferences, which they create based on research, objects and historical facts, the artists propose a series of workshops to the students, taking as a starting point a selection of heterogeneous objects belonging to them. In subsequent work sessions, like museum professionals, the students examine, describe and commente on these objects - fibula, Mexican, Venus of Lespugue or Rosetta Stone - in order to imagine, as a group, imaginary narratives to be transcribed into performances for their peers. Through the practice of writing, self-dramatization, mime and oral communication, the children develop short performances in which they interact with the chosen object.
A restitution of these performances takes place in the common room on the first floor of the Manufacture des Œillets at the end of May 2018 to report on the project and present the productions made by each class.
This project is supported by the 3rd district of National Education in Val-de-Marne.
