Rad'Arts

Kapwani Kiwanga

Since 1984, Radio-Cartable has been a radio station for pupils in the town of Ivry-sur-Seine and broadcasts live on Thursdays from 2 to 3 pm on 89.4 FM.

The recording studio is located at the Maurice Thorez Elementary School and is run by a resource teacher. The radio programme entitled Rad’Arts was created in 2012 with Crédac. “Rad’Arts is a programme that talks to you about art on the radio”. It is based on exchanges during visits of the exhibitions and an interview with the Bureau des publics team in class.

In June 2021, Rad’Arts was created by Rémi Petitot’s CE2 class from the Maurice Thorez B primary schools, in the exhibition Cima Cima. The kids met Kapwani Kiwanga during the recording session. Paintings made in class by the kids based on the artist’s works enrich their discovery of her work.
