Pierres de farine
Maude Maris
Art project led by Maude Maris with the CP class of Nina N’Guyen and Dalila Bouguerra from the Henri Barbusse elementary school in Ivry-sur-Seine. This workshop is based on the meeting with the artist Maude Maris, the discovery of her work and the experimentation with techniques and materials inspired by her own creative process.
From January to June 2014, the children explore their daily environment: the classroom, the corridor, the courtyard thanks to the imprinting process. After discovering the casting technique in plaster, they visite the Bourdelle museum in Paris, and are confronted with works in plaster on a large scale. By collecting these traces, they both develop a look at the materials, the shapes and colors that surround them, and they establish a collection of objects and drawings. Then, they arrange this collection, in the manner of cabinets of curiosities, in a small “room” built in extruded polystyrene. The exhibition Pierres de farine displays all of their creations in the school.
