Orangerie tropicale

Lauren Coullard

Invited by the Crédac, the artist Lauren Coullard proposes to the residents of the Ehpad l’Orangerie d’Ivry an imaginary summer journey towards tropical destinations, far away, known or dreamed, thanks to the experimentation of different artistic mediums.

Summer is conducive to daydreaming and holidays. However, dependent elderly people find it difficult to go on vacation due to their physical condition. Never mind, the holidays, they will imagine them, idealize them and transform their place of life into a holiday resort where it is good to bask at the edge of the water, meet tropical animals or why not climb mountains.

The project imagined by Lauren Coullard invites you to travel and escape through the experimentation of different artistic mediums. The residents of the nursing home l’Orangerie in Ivry create the sets and costumes for their dream trips through painting, writing, sewing and collage.
Postcards testifying to these motionless movements will be produced at the end of the project and sent to families and loved ones.

The project is carried out within the framework of the cultural summer, financed by the Drac Ile-de-France.
