Métiers des musées

This inter-school project introduces students from three schools in the Val-de-Marne to cultural sites with specific and complementary missions, as well as the professions that are involved.

Developed in partnership with the MACVAL and La Briqueterie, this format allows students to meet with professionals and artists around works from a collection, a temporary exhibition or a choreographic creation in progress. Students thus discover local cultural places through the professionals who run them. A launch session in the form of a screening of artists’ videos and films in the MAC VAL auditorium highlights the issues addressed in this project.

Each class then goes on a visit to each of the sites to meet the professionals, through a tour, a discussion, an interview, etc. The classes are free to present their discovery in the form they wish, in their school or in partnership with one of the three cultural places. The students also have the possibility of attending a performance programmed at La Briqueterie.

For this 2017-2018 school year, two classes from the Gustave Eiffel high school in Cachan and the Frédéric Mistral high school in Fresnes, as well as a class from the Armand Guillaumin high school in Choisy-le-Roi were able to conduct a workshop with Christian Ubl, artist associated with the Briqueterie, discover the works in the exhibition Sans réserve at the MACVAL, and take part in a performance by Louise Hervé & Clovis Maillet in their exhibition at the Credac.
