Le Jour d’après

Julien Tibéri

This workshop is built in tandem with the district’s pedagogical advisor for visual arts in the context of the twinning with the French Ministry of Education.

The artist Julien Tibéri intervenes with the class of CM1 from the school Joliot-Curie A in Ivry-sur-Seine for twenty-six hours from February to May 2010 His talk, entitled Le tour du jour en 80 mondes, was based on souvenirs collected during cultural visits: the first at the Musée d’Orsay and the second at Crédac. Through the practice of drawing, photography, poetry and mime, the students transcribe the subjective experiences related to these visits and the discovery of the works, both individually and collectively. The works are presented within the school with an exhibition from June 4 to 8, 2010.

Artist biography

  • Julien Tiberi (born in 1979, lives and works in Paris) is a drawer, sculptor, painter and musician, graduated in 2004 from the Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts de Nice. “In my work, sculpture is the extension of the series of drawings (…) of crowds or assemblies around a particular event where the singularities of each one melt into the common action, the gesture that absorbs them. Like a member of the gathering, the spectator attributes a meaning to the place itself, he substitutes the place to the space and the relation of one to the other to the simple scale of the sculpture.” Julien Tiberi
