La Mer Michel a perdu sa terre

Dominique Ghesquière

The contemporary art center of Ivry - le Crédac invites Dominique Ghesquière to lead an art project with the CM2 students of Sylvia Thomas and Hélène Soudon at the Dulcie September elementary school in Ivry-sur-Seine.

Considering the idea of movement and landscape, Dominique Ghesquière elaborates a workshop consisting of a first apprehension of the technique of clay modeling to lead to the collective realization of a large clay sculpture evoking the ocean and its waves. On April 5, 2012, during the opening of the exhibition called La mer Michel a perdu sa terre, the students, parents and relatives are invited to discover a set of drawings, preparations, sculptures and the common realization in the hall of the school. This workshop is elaborated in partnership with the National Education, with the complicity of Dominique Thouzery, educational advisor Visual Arts for the district.
