Entremondes

Lycée Saint Thomas d'Aquin

Exhibition from 2 to 17 May 2024 2024 at the Mairie du 7e arrondissement, Paris

Entremondes is a project put forward by students in their final year of secondary school taking optional art classes at the Lycée Saint Thomas d’Aquin in Paris.

For the third year running, secondary school students are invited to develop a project based on a monographic exhibition presented by the Centre d’art contemporain d’Ivry - le Crédac.
This year, the exhibition La huaca pleure by Louidgi Beltrame (21 January-7 April 2024) focused on the figure of the huaquero, or ‘clandestine grave digger’.

After seeing the exhibition in January and meeting Louidgi Beltrame in March, the students were invited by their art teacher Olivier Chiron, assisted by Emma Belhassen, to develop a personal project, defining the details (nature of the project, techniques used, individual or group work, etc.).

This approach has resulted in a wide variety of proposals exhibited along the following lines: Archaeology / Cults and rituals / Sensory experiences and motifs / Colonisation.
