The workshop for schoolchildren and after-school programmes is designed to echo June Crespo’s ROSE TRRACTION exhibition, which raises questions about, among other things, the hidden or visible gaps and circulation of fluids (water, air, electricity) in an exhibition hall.
What happens inside our walls and ceilings, under the floor, between buildings? What if we could see and pass through them, insert ourselves into them?
After observing the historic finned radiators of the Manufacture des Œillets, the electrical cable grommets and hot water pipes on the ceiling of the rooms and the Public Office, the children assemble PVC drainage pipes and fittings on either side of perforated boards representing small-scale wall partitions.
Seeing, guessing, hiding, following a path… the workshop allows participants to collectively build a labyrinthine network and finally imagine what is happening ‘on the other side’.
