In 1997, Arthur Aron developed The Experimental Generation of Interpersonal Closeness: A Procedure and Some Preliminary Findings as part of a study on interpersonal relationships. By submitting a questionnaire to two strangers, sitting opposite each other for 45 minutes, the American psychologist sought to create closeness between different people. By extending the duration of the exchange and by modifying the content of the questions, Aapo Nikkanen proposes to the public to make this experience on a stage arranged accordingly. The artist continues his research on the notions of intimacy and empathy with a sound environment composed by River Yarra.
